My name’s Jacob Godwin. I am an acupuncturist and East Asian Medicine Practitioner, an author, and I teach qigong and martial arts .

MY ACUPUNCTURE

I earned my Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Academy of OM at Austin. My practice focuses mostly on mental-emotional problems. I also treat pain and many other conditions. My own self-cultivation practice through martial arts and meditation has helped me to have more insight into problems of the mind than other conditions. The mind (spirit) runs the show. Focusing on that has made me successful in my practice. I am currently a licensed East Asian Medicine Practitioner (EAMP)  in Spokane, Washington. MY BOOK

Acupuncture in black and White is an exploration of the theoretical foundations of acupuncture. Author, Jacob Godwin, has gone back to the Yijing to find the rational core of the Yin-Yang theory. Acupuncture in Black and White rebuilds acupuncture theory from the ground up, starting with the fundamental concepts of Qi and Yin-Yang. MY MARTIAL ARTS

I have studied and practiced martial arts and meditation for almost 20 years. I have studied “internal arts” for the past eight years. I studied Yang Taijiquan as well as Baguazhang under Li Junfeng (Jet Li’s wushu coach) for a couple of years. I studied Sha Guozhen’s Xingyiquan and Baguazhang under one of his students, Cheng Shaoming. For the past three years I have trained under Fong Ha. Fong Ha teaches Yang Taijiquan and Yiquan. He calls his way Integral Chuan. I focus more on the Yiquan, but still practice Baguazhang, Xingyiquan, and Taijiquan too.

I currently teach Taijiquan at the YMCA in Spokane, Washington (north location) on Tues. and Thurs. at 7:30pm. Contact the YMCA for more information.
